JOHNSON KURUVILA Ph.D
Johnson brings more than 18 years of experience to XStream Software as the Vice President of Research & Development. He has extensive experience in research, large scale software development, embedded and real-time systems, distributed systems, IP routing/signaling protocols and wireless protocols. At XStream, Johnson's mandates include all research and development activities, identifying new and exciting product opportunities and helping formulate the strategic vision of the company.
Earlier, Johnson was Manager of terabit router development at Nortel Networks. He was Lead Engineer at AcceLight Networks and Director of Routing/Signaling/GMPLS platforms at AcceLight Research. His previous experience also includes a research career at Central Research Labs, Bangalore and Larsen & Tubro, Bombay.
Johnson has published widely in reputed international journals and conferences. He is a member of the organizing/technical committees of many international conferences and serves as a technical referee for more than 18 journals and conferences. He has been a supervisor/examiner for many undergraduate and graduate thesis works at many universities and has delivered more than 10 invited guest lectures at many research organizations. He has been awarded 2 US patents.
Johnson holds graduate degrees in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He is a recipient of many reputed scholarships and fellowships.

is also a Senior Member of the IEEE.
