| | E-Learning Solutions (Content & Assessment Authoring) Linux Simulator v1.0 Features and Benefits (At a Glance ...) | Highlights of Linux Simulator v1.0 include: | Page 2 of 2 | - Deployment in Flash (SWF) Format - Linux Simulator’s .RBX simulation files are easily exported to Flash (SWF) format for playback. Linux Simulator’s 80-97% compression technology generates relatively small Flash files, which can be played in browsers without requiring a separate/proprietary plug-in.
- Navigational Hyperlinks - Developers may customize runtime navigation capabilities by adding Hyperlink buttons that link to other screens in the current Linux Simulator file.
- Imported Images - Image files may be imported and displayed on frames.
- Mouse Pointer Animations - The Mouse Plot object enables the plotting of mouse positions to create mouse pointer animations. A frame navigation event can be set to trigger once the mouse animation finishes.
- Text Features - Linux Simulator enables the developer to add and display text in two ways:
- Text Field displays text directly on frames.
- Instruction Box displays text in a floating window. (Ideal for tutorial instructions).
- Validation Text Fields - The Validation Field validates text strings typed by the end user during playback. Once the end user enters text and presses a designated action key, the entered text is compared to existing validation strings and/or keywords that have been specified by the developer during editing. If there is a match, the entered text is validated as correct. If there is no match, the entered text is validated as incorrect.
- Draw Objects/Tools - Linux Simulator includes a palette of Draw objects and tools that allow the developer to enhance frames with different lines, shapes, colors, and custom art. They are as follows:
- Line objects can be used to connect text fields, point to frame features, create tables and diagrams, and more.
- Round Rectangle, Rectangle, and Ellipse objects can be used to create tables or visually enhance a captured or inserted frame. The size, color, border style, and border width of these objects can be adjusted. They can also be set to Opaque or Transparent.
- The Polyline tool allows the developer to draw straight lines with angles. The color and thickness of the line can be adjusted.
- Color Palette - Linux Simulator provides a 256-color palette, which is used to customize the color of frames and Draw objects.
