XStream Software Acquires Crossdraw Web Collaboration Technology
Acquisition of Crossdraw and its Orchestra technology enriches XStream's suite of authoring, administration, and web communication/collaboration solutions.
OTTAWA, Canada, October 7, 2005 - XStream Software Inc., a leading provider of advanced software technologies for E-Learning, Multimedia Content Authoring, Administration/Tracking, and Web-based Communication and Collaboration, today announced the acquisition of Crossdraw Inc., a privately held Canadian corporation based in Ottawa.
Founded in November 1999, Crossdraw is a leading innovator in the field of secure, instantly scalable web collaboration solutions. Its powerful Orchestra technology is an easy-to-use, programming-free web communication and collaboration system. Orchestra is a scalable enterprise extranet that provides users with their own dedicated online workspaces to communicate and collaborate quickly and easily over the web. Qualified users may post or download documents of any size/format to and from Orchestra. They may also add comments to documents and start online discussions. The appearance of an Orchestra site may be personalized and customized by importing logos, visuals and other branded elements.
Orchestra can be seamlessly integrated into existing portals, enterprise and document management systems, or it can function as a dynamic standalone site. Each implementation of Orchestra is tailored specifically to the group or team communication requirements of each individual client.
"With XStream's expanding dedication to the development and marketing of cutting-edge solutions for web communication and collaboration, the acquisition of Crossdraw is a perfectly timed development that we're very excited about," says Sunil K. Sethi , XStream's President and CEO. "Crossdraw's advanced Orchestra system will significantly strengthen our existing technology suite and complement our web-based XStream RapidShare collaboration technology."
XStream's acquisition of Crossdraw enables XStream to leverage the existing Orchestra platform. XStream will now offer users the Orchestra technology in addition to its existing technologies. In addition, XStream will be able to harness the Orchestra technology for future software enhancements and the development of new technologies.
"The future of Orchestra is very bright with XStream Software," says Victor Nishi, CEO of Crossdraw. "The experience, creativity, and expertise of this organization guarantees that the capabilities of Orchestra as an unparalleled web collaboration solution will continue to flourish and grow."
"This acquisition is about good business that will result in a leading-edge suite of collaboration products in one of the software industry's hottest sectors," explains Andrew Moffat, CEO of Keshet Technologies. "We are excited about this announcement and we are pleased to have been the catalyst in connecting Crossdraw with XStream, one of our valued strategic partners."
