OTTAWA, Canada, October 22, 2004 - XStream Software Inc., a leading provider of advanced software technologies for E-Learning, Multimedia Content Authoring, Administration/Tracking, and Web-based Communication and Collaboration, has included support for the IMS Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) exam development standard in RapidExam v2.5 Deluxe , the latest version of XStream's exam/assessment authoring technology.
IMS QTI is an XML-based development standard that enables the reuse of question-based exam/assessment content between different exam development systems that comply with the IMS QTI specifications. The purpose of IMS QTI is to increase exam authoring flexibility and portability by providing interoperability between different exam/assessment technologies.
RapidExam v2.5 Deluxe enables both the importing and exporting of IMS QTI-compliant files. If a developer has used another Exam Development Tool/Product and built an IMS QTI-compliant file, they will be able to import the questions from that file into RapidExam and then further edit/enhance the imported questions using the features and capabilities provided within RapidExam. Similarly, a developer can build an exam/assessment using RapidExam and then export the questions to IMS QTI format, which will then enable the developer to import and use the question-based content in another IMS QTI-compliant exam development tool.
