XStream Software Launches Fourth Release of
RapidManager™ v3.0 and RapidPortal™ v1.0
New versions of RapidManager and RapidPortal LMS include support for exam bookmarking.
OTTAWA, Canada, October 22, 2004 - XStream Software Inc., a leading provider of advanced software technologies for E-Learning, Multimedia Content Authoring, Administration/Tracking, and Web-based Communication and Collaboration, has launched the fourth release of its back-end RapidManager v3.0 Learning Management System (LMS) and corresponding browser-based RapidPortal v1.0 web portal application. RapidManager v3.0 Release 4 and RapidPortal v1.0 Release 4 include support for bookmarking in registered exam files.
The latest release of RapidManager/RapidPortal corresponds with the release of RapidExam v2.5 Deluxe, the latest version of XStream's exam/assessment authoring technology. The exam (.EXM/.XML) files created in RapidExam and registered in RapidManager/RapidPortal now include bookmarking capability. An end user logged in to an exam will be able to save his/her current location within the exam (thus saving all of the questions answered thus far during the exam session). During the process of taking an exam, if the end user needs to exit the exam (for whatever reason), the end user may later resume the exam on the very same question he/she was working on before the exam was exited. Depending on the setting specified by the developer in RapidExam, bookmarking may be Automatic (meaning the system will automatically save bookmarking information periodically during the exam), Manual (meaning the user will be prompted to save the exam when exiting), Automatic & Manual (where the data is saved periodically and the user is also asked to save upon exiting), or Disabled.
In addition, RapidManager/RapidPortal provides several new available reports related to exam bookmarking. System administrators may generate a list of the bookmarked sessions of a selected exam that have been saved by a selected user, all users, a selected group, or all groups.
