designed for a major Personal Computer (PC) assembly
unit in India to assemble, load the Operating system
with out user intervention, pack and dispatch PCs as
per the customer ordered configuration.

Integrated Manufacturing Aid System is an Intranet
based application developed using Active Server Pages
with MS SQL Server as backend. This system interacts
with ERP System ( Symix ) for downloading shop floor job data. Custom hardware
was developed to facilitate OS loading via parallel ports of target PCs. IMAS
employs the Barcode Scanners/ Printers and Portable Data Capture Terminals
(PDCT) for accurate data capturing and guidance for assembling, Packing and
Despatch . Custom GUI based tools were developed using MS Visual Studio to
interact with external hardware sub-systems such as PDCTs . IMAS uses the ECP capabilities of the Parallel port
and transfers the data at the rate of 0.5 MB to 2 MB

A high speed data transfer switch was designed which
multiplexes data on high speed ECP ports. It is 8051
controller based system with high speed switching logic.
The enclosure design was also carried out for this.
