RapidBuilder records (using a 'continuous'
capturing technique) all real-time screen interactions
(including screen changes, dialog box interactivity, mouse
clicks, keystrokes, and cursor/mouse pointer movements) with
any desktop or web-based software application to instantly
create tutorials, demos, courses, presentations, and more.
RapidBuilder files may be edited/enhanced
through a robust, feature-rich, drag-and-drop multimedia
edit suite, which includes provisions for adding appended/inserted
frames, text, graphics, pre-defined screen templates, audio
files, recorded sound clips, embedded sound tracks, video,
navigational hyperlinks, links to external files and web
pages, menus, mouse pointer animations, highlighting actions,
drag and drop actions, special visual effects, colors, shapes,
combo boxes, instructions boxes, and a lot more.
RapidBuilder's sophisticated edit suite
enables developers to create RapidBuilder files in two ways.
One way is to record and then edit/enhance the captured software
simulations. Second way is to add blank frames to new RapidBuilder
files and define the content for these frames using the sophisticated
and powerful edit suite. This enables developers to create
all types of RapidBuilder files.
RapidBuilder files are highly compressed
(80-97%) to generate small files. These files can be saved
in a variety of formats including RBX (RapidBuilder's native
file format), EXE, Flash (SWF) , or different video
formats (AVI, ASF, MOV, MPEG). The files may be deployed
on CD-ROM, via the Web (Internet, Intranet, Extranet), or
on LAN/WAN. RapidBuilder files may also be printed directly
to paper in order to create document versions of authored
simulation files.
RapidBuilder works with XStream RapidShare™ Learning Management System (LMS) v1.0, which is XStream's secure, wide-ranging and completely web-based LMS module within the XStream RapidShare hosted web environment and digital workspace. XStream RapidShare LMS works with XStream's RapidBuilder, RapidExam, Performance Analyzer, and RapidGuide technologies. The LMS includes full capabilities for registering, tracking, and reporting on learning content files created with RapidBuilder, RapidExam, Performance Analyzer, and RapidGuide. The LMS module can also schedule, track, and report on Offline Events of all types (such as instructor-led training sessions, meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, trade shows, etc.), and it provides many other features and capabilities, including e-mail notifications, extensive reporting capabilities, self-registration capabilities, learning paths, course catalogs, prerequisite definitions, bookmarking capabilities, offline exam generation, interface customization, archiving capabilities, 508 compliance, multi-language support, optional communication and collaboration capabilities, and more.
