Customizing Supporting Screen
Snapshots
For
each recorded frame/step in the guidance session,
the area of the screen snapshot showing the
recorded mouse click or keystroke action is
surrounded by a red transparent rectangle.
By default, this portion of the screen snapshot
will be displayed along with the instruction
during playback. However, the developer also
has the option of dragging and dropping the
transparent rectangle onto any other part of
the screen snapshot in order to customize the
image that will be displayed with the instruction.
Customizing Target Object
Icons
Each
recorded frame/step in the guidance session
includes a Target Object icon image, which
marks the exact location of the recorded mouse
click or text entry action within the screen
snapshot. The Target Object icon may be manually
resized, and its location on the screen snapshot
may be adjusted. In addition, the developer
may customize the Target Object icon by selecting
from a list of available icon images provided
by RapidGuide or importing and using external
icon (.ICO) images.
Multi-Level Branching
Each topic or subtopic created
in RapidGuide can branch out to multiple guidance
sessions each representing different ways to
accomplish or complete the task or a portion
of the task. Therefore, during playback of
a guidance session, the end user may be presented
with several different choices representing
different paths or "branches" (i.e.,
alternate methods) that ultimately lead to
the completion of the required task. Branching
is an extremely powerful feature that allows
developers to create flexible guidance sessions
that apply to different scenarios and allow
users to practice and learn multiple methods
of completing the same task.
